June, 2024 — Several of us at CWA went on a field trip to the Glen-Gery Mid-Atlantic Brick Plant in Reading, Pennsylvania, to get a behind-the-scenes look into the process of brick manufacturing, from start to finish. The tour started at the Brickworks Center in Philadelphia where we viewed the latest innovations in brick design and proceeded to the factory, where we viewed the various stages involved in producing bricks. By the end of the day, we were left with a greater appreciation for the craftmanship, innovation and attention to detail that go into the making of bricks.
