Carbon County, PA October 2018 – October 23rd marked the ground breaking for the new Hickory Run State Park Visitor’s Center. CWA had the opportunity to join the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) Secretary Cindy Dunn, and other stakeholders, in celebrating this milestone. Construction is scheduled for completion in 2020.
Led by principal Susan Chisholm AIA, the new visitor’s center will serve both administrative and educational purposes, featuring new office spaces as well as educational exhibits and a classroom. The project is on track to receive LEED silver designation, incorporating geothermal heating and cooling, rain gardens to collect and manage storm water, as well as water efficient plumbing fixtures.
