CWA Runs/Walks the Runway
September, 2024 -- A few CWA employees were up bright and early this past Saturday to participate in the 2024 PHL 5K Run/Walk, the Runway event hosted by the Philadelphia International Airport. The annual run/walk supports initiatives like the March of Dimes, Eastwick Friends & Neighbors Coalition, and Eastwick United CDC that CWA was proud to sponsor. Brick Plant Field Trip
June, 2024 -- Several of us at CWA went on a field trip to the Glen-Gery Mid-Atlantic Brick Plant in Reading, Pennsylvania, to get a behind-the-scenes look into the process of brick manufacturing, from start to finish. The tour started at the Brickworks Center in Philadelphia where we viewed the latest innovations in brick design and proceeded to the factory, where we viewed the various stages involved in producing bricks. June, 2024 -- CWA is excited to welcome Lena Guo as a summer intern. Lena is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Architecture at the University of Pennsylvania. Lena completed her undergrad degree at the Academy of Fine Arts in Xi'an, China, where she majored in Environmental Design. DCNR Visitor Center Earns LEED Silver Certification
White Haven, PA March 2021 - The new Visitor Center and Park Office at Hickory Run State Park was awarded LEED Silver Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for sustainable site development and design of this 13,000 square foot building. Features include rain gardens, geothermal heat exchange, dark sky compliant light fixtures, recycled materials, high functioning thermal envelope, solar reflective roof, and energy efficient LED lighting. Ground Breaking for the New Visitors Center at Hickory Run State Park
