Marsh Creek State Park is located in the rolling hills of north central Chester County. The 1,784-acre park contains the 535-acre Marsh Creek Lake, which is a wonderful resource for fishing, sailing, and migrating waterfowl. Among the many activities visitors enjoy are boating, fishing, swimming, hiking, mountain biking, and birding. Winter activities include ice skating, sledding, ice fishing, and cross-country skiing. The park is enjoyed by over 1,000,000 people each year.
The new 5,300 sf Park Office, located on the southern shore of Marsh Creek Lake, will provide for visitor contact and park administration. Reception Lobby and outdoor decks at the upper level provide spectacular views of the lake. A public stair provides access to Multipurpose Room and Education Porch at lower level. Other spaces include administrative offices and staff support spaces. The sitework includes drives, walkways, landscaping, and raingardens for stormwater management.
The project includes a solar array to generate power to make the entire Park Net-Zero. With geo-exchange HVAC, sustainable site development, and a high performing building envelope, the project is on track to achieve LEED Gold certification.
